A demonstration was staged by BJP under party’s state president Dilip Ghosh in front of ‘Dooarskanya,’ the office of the district magistrate on Monday. Huge police arrangements were made to maintain law and order prior to BJP’s political programme declared in advance.
Mocking the police Ghosh said, “Had police been so active during the panchayet polls, many innocent lives could be saved.” He said that police were forced to play the role of Trinamool Congress cadres as the ruling party was gradually losing mass support base. “False cases are being registered against BJP workers. Police have been acting against us deliberately,” he alleged.
Large contingents of police were posted on different roads leading to ‘Dooarskanya.’ The DM office was cordoned by huge number of police personnel. Security was exceptionally beefed up at all corners of the district headquarter.
“Three ministers including one from the district were dropped from cabinet as BJP’s rise could not be prevented. Some leaders of Trinamool have lost their posts too. Many others are in queue because with its best possible effort Trinamool would not be able to stop the progress of BJP in the state,” Ghosh said addressing the large gathering of BJP workers.
State BJP chief declared that similar agitations woyuld be staged in front of offices of all DMs.
“Prior to panchayet poll we kicked off our campaign from South Bengal and concluded in North Bengal. Our next political programme started from Monday and would continue in the reverse order,” Dilip Ghosh said.
A general secretary of Trinamool block committee in Kumargram was inducted to BJP on Monday.
BJP leaders served a deputation to DM at the end of the meeting.
District BJP president Gangaprasad Sharma, Ali Hossain, state president of party’s minority cell, district observer Malati Rava and North Bengal observer Rathin Bose were present in the meeting too.
