Cops of Police Station, Rangat on Saturday seized tobacco leaves from one Abdulla Mondal, son of Rashid Ali Mondal, resident of Bambooflat from room no. 115 of PLS Lodge. The raid was conducted by the police under the leadership of head constable Pankaj Kumar and constable Pavitro Sikari in the presence of Food Safety officials, Mr K Kumar.

In another brazen case of wastage of taxpayers’ money, a newly constructed Panchayat Market in the Great Nicobar Island is awaiting allotment for the past six months. According to reports, Laxmi Nagar Panchayat here approved construction of around 4-6 markets at Joginder Nagar in its bid to create employment opportunities for eligible beneficiaries.

Rangat farmers allege discrimination

75 yr old attempts suicide
A 75 year old attempted suicide on the 21st of this month at Diglipur in North Andaman. Priya Halder, wife of Late Kiren Chandra Halder, resident of RK Gram, was noticed trying to hang herself by her son in the presence of some neighbours. The Police has registered a case under section 309 IPC.
