Sri Lanka is committed to work towards reconciliation with Tamils and has taken concrete steps to prevent torture, the foreign ministry said today after a media report claimed that more than 60 Sri Lankans were subjected to physical abuse under the current government.


Police have arrested three alleged armed robbers and seized weapons from their possession after a brief encounter here, police said today. They were arrested under Titawi police station on Wednesday, station house officer Sube Singh said.
