Twenty years ago, an unemployed youth, (Islander) from A & N Islands went to Nagpur, Maharashtra to study M.Com degree. After completing the M.Com in Management degree, he could not able to get job; because of the simple fact that he has not studied ‘accountancy’ subject in his M.Com degree. In order to get job, he again took admission in another M.Com-Accounting & Finance - at Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Later, he  has got many jobs in A & N Islands itself and now placed in officer grade (looking after Accounts & Finance).

When in 2008 the CPI(M)’s general secretary of the time, Prakash Karat, was opposing the nuclear deal with the US, it used to be said jocularly that if Manmohan Singh was batting for India, Karat was doing so for China.
It was a jibe which made Karat tell an interviewer that his party was not China’s “stooge”. As is known, two of the staunchest opponents of the deal were China and its “iron brother’, Pakistan.

The performance anxiety stemming from the four years of dismal performance of the Indian economy will continue to haunt the government and the people of the country, irrespective of the rosy picture portrayed for 2018-19 by the Economic Survey, the Modi government’s fifth and final. Even the authors of the document have noted a heightened performance anxiety relative to expectations.

The Rajasthan Congress chief, Sachin Pilot, has put the creditable electoral success of the party in the recent by-elections to the hard and sustained work the party workers had been making among the people for the last four years. He has claimed that he had been in the ‘election mode’ since 2013, the year the party was defeated by the BJP.
