Stressed and frustrated due to illness and tired of travelling 80 km up and down to Dr RP Hospital at Mayabunder twice a week, Mr. Ranjan Dali, resident of Bakultala recently committed suicide. Ranjan Dali is not the first person in the Middle Andaman to commit suicides due to kidney ailments as several people from this part of the Islands have committed suicides.

A man who died after a severe cardiac arrest at Rangat Bay was not allowed to be cremated by nearby residents in front of his house. According to reports, Mr. Bishnu Pada Biswas, aged 68 yrs, R/o Rangat Bay died at 1.30 pm on Monday after a severe cardiac arrest. His family decided to perform the cremation in the lawns of his home at Rangat Bay.
