3 bikers killed in Nalanda mishap

Three bikers were killed and another was seriously injured when they were run over by a speeding truck in Bihar's Nalanda district today.
Protesting against the incident, locals blocked the road and attacked a driver of a police vehicle. The incident occurred near Babu Bigha village on Ekangar Sarai-Islampur main road under the jurisdiction of Ekangar Sarai police station. A speeding truck coming from the opposite direction lost control and knocked down four bikers riding two motorcycles, Ekangar Sarai police station officer-in-charge Dinesh Malakar said.
Three persons were killed on the spot while another was seriously injured. The injured was admitted to Ekangar Sarai primary health centre, Malakar said. Two out of the three deceased persons were identified as Ravi Kumar and Arun Prasad. Both were residents of Babu Bigha village. The identity of the third person could not be ascertained till last reports came in. The truck driver managed to escape from the spot after the accident, the police officer said.
Angry locals kept the bodies on the Ekangar Sarai-Islampur main road and blocked it, Malaklar said. They also attacked one Munna, the driver of a police vehicle and injured him. The police was camping at the incident site till last reports came in.
