Fuel Station at Campbell Bay resumes operation

Acting promptly on the report published in this daily, the Indian Oil Corporation and ANIIDCO initiated steps for rectification of faults in the recently inaugurated fuel station here. According to reports, workers under the supervision of technical staff carried out works to mend leakages from the pipeline network and faulty meter readings due to which the petrol pump ceased operations last month. After rectification of the snags, the fuel station resumed services for the remote islanders on Monday, according to reports.
EOI recently reported about motorists suffering fuel crisis after the newly inaugurated Fuel Station at Campbell Bay shut operations last month. Leakages in the pipeline network and faulty meter readings were noticed in retail fuel vending outlet set up by Indian Oil Corporation. On January 5 this year, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration inaugurated the Southernmost Petrol Pump of the country at Campbell Bay. Opening of the Petrol Pump was expected to provide regular and uninterrupted supply of petrol and diesel to the residents of the area on price at par with Port Blair as facilitate the pace of development in the remote island.
