Ray visits Campbell Bay, lists achievements of NDA Govt.

The Member of Parliament, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray generated awareness on government schemes and listed achievements of the NDA-government in the past three years on Sunday here. At a meeting attended by PRI members and general public of Great Nicobar region in Conference Hall of the APWD Guest House here, Mr Ray reiterated the commitment of the Centre towards development of the country including the remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Though a PPT presentation, the Member of Parliament stressed on the execution plan for the ambitious undersea cable project from Chennai to Campbell Bay to boost telecom services in this remote territory. He also urged people to avail benefits of other schemes like Mudra Yojana, Make-in-India, Digital India, Skill India etc. The Member of Parliament also informed about infrastructure projects and MPLAD initiatives planned for the Great Nicobar Island, implementation of 1/30th of pay scales plus dearness allowance for daily rated workers, revision of minimum wages.
The Assistant Commissioner of Campbell Bay and officials from other government departments were also present on the occasion. The Assistant Commissioner spoke about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) being celebrated across the country today.
