Shompen kid referred to GBPH for TB treatment

A team from the A & N State AYUSH Society and health experts from Hyderabad camped here to examine the health conditions of the primitive Shompen tribes from Tuesday. The medical experts examined around 105 Shompens of the total population of 226 in the Great Nicobar region and administered necessary medical treatment.
During the camp, the team found Shankar, an eight  year old Shompen kid, suffering from Tuberculosis. The patient reportedly exhausted his prescribed medicines and the doctors immediately referred him to GB Pant Hospital for expert handling. Shankar accompanied by the medical staff  left for Port Blair on Wednesday, according to reports.
