The student wing of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha on Wednesday faxed a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh demanding that all future dialogues relating to the Darjeeling hills involve the present chairman and vice-chairman of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration.
The Gorkha Janmukti Vidhyarthi Morcha (GJVM) in their letter to the Home Minister stressed that the current leadership of the GJM under Binoy Tamang and Anit Thapa was instrumental in restoring peace and normality in the hills as well as socio-economic and political stability after the 104 days of agitation and strike.
The student front of the GJM also emphasized that it was the Union Home
Ministry that had made an appeal to the GJM withdraw the statehood agitation and start talks with the state government to end the impasse and explore the possibilities to normalize the situation in the hills so that tripartite meetings between the three stakeholders could be initiated. (EOIC)
