Tree crashing incidents block ATR, damage quarter at Diglipur

The concern raised by this daily over lack of regular inspection and pruning of dangerous trees at Diglipur in North Andaman proved spot on as turbulent weather again caused two tree crashing incident in the region on Thursday. The first mishap was reported at Nabin Nagar, Diglipur where a massive Rui tree uprooted and crashed over an abandoned government quarter. In the second incident, a tree collapsed over the Andaman Trunk Road at VS Palli near Aerial Bay disrupting traffic for a few hours. Luckily, no one suffered injuries in the mishaps.
According to information, both the tree uprooting incidents were reported in the morning hours today. The fire squad armed with latest equipments like Chain Saws formed two different teams rushed to the spots to clear the debris. After sustained efforts, the Andaman Trunk Road was cleared for movement of traffic and the massive tree trunks over the government quarter at Nabin Nagar was also disposed of safety.
