Forty four nurses who are currently working under the National Health Mission on a contractual basis on Saturday requested the Sikkim Government for their absorption in posts for staff nurses. “Chief Minister Pawan Chamling during his 32-day public interaction programme had said that emplyees who were serving the state for more than five years would be regularised. So we are also hopeful he will consider us,” Rukmani Adhikary, one of the nurses said.
Bimla Tamang, another nurse, said these nurses should be absorbed in government posts when the next batch of nurses were recruited. The Sikkim Public Service Commission has recently selected 261 candidates for posts of staff nurses.
