Anita Narula wins Dr Shova Kanti Thegim ( Lepcha) Smriti Puraskar

The Dr Shova Kanti Thegim ( Lepcha) Smriti Puraskar ( Memorial Award ) 2018 was conferred to Anita Niraula for her book 'Black and White Sikkim - maa Sangeetbhitra kaa haro' on Wednesday during the award function held at Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Sikkim at Development area. The award is presented anually on July 4 commemorating the birth anniversarry of the late Dr Thegim and carries a cash reward and momento.
The awards are meant for people of Sikkim.and Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts of West Bengal for only e books in Nepali language authored by all levels of writers.
The day's event was attended by renouned musician Shanti Thatal as chief guest and a number of literary figures.
Anita Niraula has already won the Shobha Rai Bardewa Award for Investigative Journalism by Himalchuli Group if Industries, Sikkim, and Woman Achiever Felicitation by Press Club of Sikkim.
Other than her book for which she received the award on Wednesday she also regularly contributes short stories, essays and articles in various newspapers.
