Exhibition in Gangtok: A fusion of art work from Sikkim and West Bengal

In a fusion of creations of artists from Sikkim and West Bengal, a group of artists from Siliguri has organized an exhibition of modern arts in a hotel in Gangtok. The exhibition was inaugurated on Sunday in the presence of the artists.
Artists from Cooch Behar, Siliguri and Kolkata are taking part in the exhibition. They have put up 30 paintings on display. Artists from Sikkim have also displayed their paintings.
“We have already organised such an exhibition in Siliguri which was a grand success. It was named Peace of Art – 1,” organizing secretary Dipayan Ghosh said. “This exhibition which we have organised in Gangtok is Peace of Art- 2.  It is meant for local artists, people of Sikkim and and tourists to the state. We have paintings in acrylic, oil, water colour, pen and ink and mix medium and all are saleable.”
Besides this, a main objective of the exhibition was to connect with the artists of Sikkim and look forward for collaborative exhibition near future, Ghosh said. Exhibition organiser Santosh Sarkar said : “Wwe have organised this exhibition to create interest towards the this form of art among Sikkimese people. It is also a platform for local artists to exchange their thoughts with artists from outside.”
