The Border Roads Organisation has extended road connectivity upto Taksing, along the India-China border, in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, a BRO statement said.
The BRO completed the extension of the Tama Chung Chung-Taksing road beyond Lemiking on May 9, after nine years of "painstaking" work, the statement said.
The road now connects a 80-kilometre stretch between Taksing circle along the international border with Lemiking.
Commander of 23 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) Col Tanish Kumar said in the statement that a BRO team recently drove from Lemiking to Taksing for spot verification.
Work on the road began in 2009 and continued despite challenges such as inhospitable terrain, inclement weather conditions with incessant precipitation for almost nine months a year, it said. (PTI)
