Law minister orders immediate renovations before Chief Justice inspects circuit bench next week

State law minister Malay Ghatak ordered renovations of the temporary infrastructures of the circuit bench of Calcutta High Court in the district within a week. Ghatak along with tourism minister Gautam Deb, local MP Bijay Chandra Burman, Saurav Chakraborty, chairman of Siliguri Jalpaiguri development authority (SJDA), Shilpa Gourisaria and senior district officials of PWD.
It has been learnt from sources that the state government is keen to get the circuit bench functioning in Jalpaiguri with readily available temporary infrastructures. 
"State government has made a definite plea to Kolkata high court in this regard," Ghatak said.
Concerned officials were asked to complete the renovations within a week, law mimister said.
He informed that keeping in view the state government's appeal a delegation of judiciary led by the chief justice of Kolkata high court Jyotirmay Bhattacharya would inspect the infrastructure of the circuit bench in Jalpaiguri on June 23. (EOIC)
