NTPC vendor meet held

A Vendor Meet was organized by C&M dept at NTPC, Kahalgaon today.
The main purpose of the meet was to make aware of various developments in company polices, to communicate the previous demands fulfilled and to listen further problems if any.
The meeting was chaired and inaugurated by Rakesh Samuel, GGM(Kh.) by lighting of the ceremonial lamp in presence of Senior NTPC officials S. Sarkar, GM(O&M), C.K. Kusari, GM(Maintenance), S.M. Jha, GM(Fuel Management), Neeraj Kapoor, GM(Operartion), P.Pradhan , HOD(Fin), P.K. Sabat, HOD (C&M), Pravat Ram, HOD(HR).
Approx. 130 agencies attended the meet. GGM Samuel addressed the gathering informing that NTPC has achieved the milestone of 50,000 MW in terms of installed capacity.  During last financial year, 537 contracts and 783 purchase orders were awarded from Kahalgaon. The percentage of SME vendors was 34% against the target of 20% limit fixed by GOI.
Head of Contract and Materials, P.K. Sabat elaborated the developments in the procurement system during last 10 years. Some of these were implementation of e-Tendering, Vendor enlistment, On-line EMD, Timely return of EMD, SME benefits and Introduction of Bill Tracking System. He also stated that because of all these, the company has offered most transparent system in the arena of public procurement. (EOIC)
