CID nabs 'fake doc' in state

27 May 2017

Tightening its noose around "fake doctors", the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has nabbed yet another physician who passed himself off as an allergy and asthma specialist in one of Kolkata's top private clinics, officials said today.
"One fake doctor namely Naren Pandey (Narendra Pandey) attached with Bellevue Clinic Kolkata and Medland Diagnostic Institute, Entally Kolkata, was arrested on May 26 from his Entally chamber and diagnostic centre," a CID official said. In his Facebook profile, Pandey claims he studied at Xinjiang Medical University. Belle Vue Clinic authorities said they were probing the allegations. So far, four persons, including Pandey, have been arrested in West Bengal in a month as purported "fake doctors".
