ER GM holds meeting on safety, security

Harindra Rao, general manager, Eastern Railway held a high level meeting on safety, punctuality and security aspects with the principal head of departments and divisional railway managers at Eastern Railway’s Headquarters, Fairlie Place today.
Sasanka Sekhar Das, Loco Pilot / Sealdah and Sunil Kumar, Asstt. Loco Pilot/ Andal were honoured with safety awards in the meeting, in presence of Ram Prakash, chief safety officer, Eastern Railway and other principal heads of departments, for their sincere and diligent work in averting possible disruption in train movement and untoward incident. 
Sasanka Sekhar Das, while driving 31152 Down Barddhaman –Sealdah local on July 7, suddenly saw a tractor with a trolley on that track between Rasulpur and Palsit stations. He at once applied emergency brake and stopped his train and thereby an untoward incident was averted.
Sunil Kumar, assistant loco pilot/ Andal, while driving a goods train on July 24/25, suddenly felt a heavy jerk. He immediately stopped the train by applying emergency brake. He spotted a rail fracture and immediately reported the matter to the concerned department for rectification and thereby a mishap was averted for his alertness.
