ER’s high level safety meeting held
A high level safety meeting was held at Eastern Railway’s Headquarters at Fairlie Place today wherein all Principal Heads of Departments alongwith DRMs of Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol and Malda were attended the meeting.
Ghanshyam Singh, General Manager, Eastern Railway honoured four employees who have rendered their dedicated & exemplary service in safe running of Railways. This award was given as a token of appreciation for the good work done by the staff with the aim to sensitize other staff to work sincerely.
All unusual incidents occurred during the last week were discussed in detail along with remedial measures for non-occurrence of the incident in future.
Addressing DRMs and Principal Officers, Ghanshyam Singh, General Manager urged upon ER’s workforce, all officers & staff to open the channel of communication amongst themselves in the greater interest of the Railways. He warned all staff & officers, particularly, those who are concerned with the Railway operations and safety to be very careful and follow all safety rules and procedures while working in their respective fields.
He advised all concerned to have regular discussions, seminars and share views for better safety measures in train operations. At no point of time any short-cut at any level will not be tolerated. He warned of drastic action, even removal from the service will be initiated in case of any lapse on safety front. He appealed all Unions & staff associations to cooperate and discuss the issues which are urgently required to be addressed in respect of safety operations. Safety measures are required to be reviewed even every day at every level.
General Manager appreciated the Divisions for their efforts in enhancing the loading, which is the need of the Railways at present. Punctuality of train running was also discussed and action required to be taken in this respect was also analyzed. General Manager urged upon all ER staff and officers to work hard for better and smooth train operations in so far as ER is concerned.
