ER, SER, Metro Railway observe Ambedkar's birth anniversary

S N  Agrawal, General Manager, Eastern Railway paid floral tribute to the portrait of Bharat Ratna  Dr B R Ambedkar on the occasion of Birth Anniversary observed at Eastern Railway’s headquarters at Fairlie Place, Kolkata today.
Senior Officers and staff members of Eastern Railway also paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar on this occasion. Agrawal, remembered the contribution of Baba Saheb in framing the Constitution of the country and his sacrifice and dedicated work for educating the people and economic development of the downtrodden.
South Eastern Railway (SER) too observed the occasion today at its headquarters in Garden Reach. Agarwal, who is the generakl manager of SER also, paid respectful homage to this illustrious son of India, along with other principal head of departments, senior officers and staff members.  In a simple and solemn ceremony, B N Soren, deputy chief personnel officer (headquarters) mentioned about the sacrifice of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for the uplift of the weaker and downtrodden section of the society. Zarina Firdausi, chief personnel officer of SER, Suchitto Kumar Das, chief operations manager, Jaya Verma Sinha, deputy general manager and other principal head of departments and senior officers and staff were also present.
The Metro Railway on its part observed the occasion in a solemn manner at Metro Rail Bhawan today. Punkaj Gupta, additional general manager and chief electrical engineer, Metro Railway, Kolkata paid homage to the great scholar and principal architect of the Constitution of India by garlanding his photograph on behalf of officers and staff of Metro Railway who were present during the occasion.
