GST Outreach Prog for oil industry stakeholders held

A GST Outreach Programme for oil industry stakeholders was held in Kolkata and was hosted by IndianOil Corporation Limited. The Program aimed at sharing the essential insights regarding the implementation of GST and alleviating any apprehension related to adoption of GST. The GST outreach programme brought around 500 stakeholders including LPG distributors, retail outlet dealers, transporters, contractors and vendors to a common platform to deliberate and discuss the way forward for smooth transition to GST.
The program was graced by S K Panda, Chief Commissioner, GST, Kolkata; Bijay Kumar, Principal Commissioner GST & CX, Kolkata; Adesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner & PRO, Commercial Tax, Government of India; Adesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner & PRO, Commercial Tax, Govt. of West Bengal; Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, State Level Coordinator, West Bengal and Executive Director- West Bengal State Office (IOCL) and Senior Officials from Oil Industry.
Mr Mohapatra in his welcome address conveyed that the oil industry is geared up for the adoption of GST and urged the Stakeholders to be a part of this progressive change. Mr Panda, in his keynote address highlighted the paradigm shift that GST has brought in terms of migrating from Multi-Tax system to One Tax Regime. He also elaborated on the necessity for all the stakeholders to understand the implication and impact of GST on the business processes in order to ensure a smooth transition. (EOIC)
