ISKCON is going to celebrate 47th Kolkata Rathayatra with pomp & grandeur

International society for Krishna Consciousness (ISCON) in Kolkata is going to celebrate the 47th Kolkata Rathayatra at around 2.30 pm of coming Saturday.  Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the Rathayatra along with Bhagyashree and many Tollywood artist including Rituparno Sengupta, Soham Chakraborty, Subhashree, Srabanti, and others. The theme of this year Rathayatra is "The Hidden treasures of Kolkata".
Rathayatra starting at l pm from Hungerford Street (near Minto Park will first cover A.J.C Bose Road and then Sarat Bose Road. After that the procession will cover Hazra Road, S.P.M Road, A.T.M Road, Chowringhee Road, Exide Crossings, J.L Nehru Road and Outram Road. The yatra will end at Brigade Parade ground.
On July 22 Ultarathayatra will start at 12 noon from Outram Road near Park Street Metro and will take a left turn to reach at Dorina Crossing on J L Nehru Road. Then the yatra will reach at Moulali Crossing covering S N Banerjee Road. From Moulali Crossing the Ultarathayatra will reach at Park Circus 7-Point Crossing and will take the route of Shakespeare Sarani After that the yatra will enter into Hungerford Street and will finally reach at ISKCON Temple on 3C Albert Road.
On the day of Rathayatra and Ultarathayatra, apart from the 3 chariots of Their Lordships Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra Devi, there will be 3 trolleys, 4 mini vans where children's will depict different pastimes of the Lord and Ramanuj Acharya. A groups of devotee artists from South India will move ahead of the 3 chariots of the Lord and make street art with natural organic gulals in few minutes for the pleasure of the Lord. They will literally paint the Kolkata Street with beautiful designs. In front of each chariots, internationally famous kirtaniyas with hundreds of drums and kartals will perform roaring and heart touching kirtans. In the middle of the 1 kms long procession, there will be prasadam bus which will distribute Jagannath prasadam to everyone.
Lord Jagannath with His Divine siblings will stay at Brigade parade ground (opposite to Park Street Metro Station) where from July 15 to July 21 a grand mela will be organized where everyone can honour hot kichadi prasadam every evening from 3.30 pm to 8.30 p.m daily. In front of Lord Jagannath everyday prominent artists from India and abroad including Dona Ganguly, Padma Shri winner dancers will perform daily. Also at the cultural pandal dance programs, drama, kirtans, shadow dance, magic show, pravachan etc. will win the hearts of its audiences.
Like the previous rathayatras this year also ISCON will offer specially cooked Prasadam and to cook this prasadam ISCON has assigned skilled cooks from Odisha.
