Metro RPF recovers more than 4 kg gold at Dum Dum

On May 2 at about 8.45 pm , the on-duty lady constable Ipshita Paul of North Coy, Belghachia detected one suspicious bag in the course of baggage scanning at Dum Dum Metro Station.  She detained the man and called the on-duty officer C.M. Pandey, Sub-inspector  attended and brought the person and his bag to the Station Superintendent Room, checked the bag in presence of the Station Superintendent, Dum Dum Metro Station  and found huge quantities  of gold ornaments.  On being asked, the person disclosed his name as Hariom Rastogi, aged 37 years of Barreily District, UP but could not show any documents.  The matter was informed to Sinthi Police Station.  The recovered ornaments weighing 4 kg 86 gm and 730 mg (approx.) were seized.  The detained persons and seized ornaments were handed over to the Sinthi Police Station with a written memo after observing all legal formalities.
