Metro to run normal services on Jan 8, Jan 9

Metro Railway will run normal services on January 8 (Tuesday) and January 9 (Wednesday) i.e. on the two days that a nationwide general strike has been called by the Central Trade Unions. As a precautionary measure, station staff have been booked to stay overnight at Metro stations so that counters can be opened on time at 6.30 am in the morning like all other days and passengers are not inconvenienced. Adequate RPF personnel will be deployed at all stations to ensure the security of the commuters. The overall security arrangements will be monitored from the central security control at Metro Rail Bhavan. In case any help is required, passengers are requested to contact with the Railway Security helpline no: 182, Metro Railway Security Helpline No: 9007041789 and Women Helpline No: 9007041908. Metro RPF will work in close co-ordination with Kolkata Police to ensure that the passengers are not inconvenienced in any way. (EOIC)
