MORE PASSENGER AMENITIES IN METRO RAILWAY

Metro Railway, Kolkata has taken a lot of initiatives in the financial year 2016-17 in terms of Passenger Amenities. Some of them are given below:
*Toilets have been constructed for passengers at Four Metro Stations.
*A lift has been constructed at Dum Dum Metro Stations for the benefits of the commuters.       
*Two new platforms have been inaugurated each at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Noapara Metro Station.
*500 KWp Solar Power Plants have been commissioned at two stations.
*Kavi Subhash and Maha Nayak Uttam Kumar Stations have become Green Stations as total station load has been catered by solar energy.
*1000 nos. T8 tube lights (36 W) have been retrofitted by LED tube lights (19W) in different locations in 5(five) underground stations.      530 LED parapet light provided in elevated sections.
*Two nos. NGEF rakes have been rehabilitated with improved passenger amenities and safety features.
*Stainless Steel chairs have been provided at different Metro Stations for Commuters.
*Wi-Fi facility has been provided at Metro Stations.
*One Air conditioning plant has been commissioned at Chadni
*Chawk Metro Station to provide comfort to commuters.
Passenger amenities in Indian Railways:
*67 lifts and escalators commissioned.
*34,000 bio-toilets fitted. 
*1313 stations have been provided with 100 per cent LED lights. Last year it was only in 65 stations.
*Wi-Fi was provided at 100 stations.  Last year it was only 15.
*Special trains: About 31, 438 trips special trains run. (EOIC)
