MPs panel on railways holds meeting with Metro Railway

Advises revised fare structure

The Parliamentary standing committee on railways under the chairmanship of Ram Tahal Choudhary held a meeting with Vishesh Choubey, general manager, principal head of departments and senior officers of Metro Railway, Kolkata recently.
The chairman and other members of the committee were keen to know the problem and hurdles that Metro Railway is facing in executing the new projects and assured all help from their end. The committee members expressed their concern with the present operating ratio of Metro Railway. They were of the opinion that the fare structure of Metro Railway should be revised at par with the fare structure of other Metros in the Country.  
The members praised Metro for sharing the huge volume of Kolkata traffic and providing adequate amenities to the passengers. Committee members Rajeev Satav, Ramesh Chander Kaushik, Balabhadra Majhi, Lakhan Lal Sahu, Ranvijay Singh Judev were present in the meeting.
