Mukul to quit as RS member today

Suspended TMc leader Mukul Roy will resign as Rajya Sabha MP on Wednesday. Roy has sought an appointment with Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu at New Delhi at around 3.30 pm where he is likely to tender his resignation. The former railway minister will be quitting with seven months left in his tenure. "Finally, I am going to hand over my resignation to the Vice- President on October 11 and then I will tell the people of this country why I decided to end my long political innings with the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the party I founded with many others," Roy had told newspersons on Monday.
