SBI opens folk art gallery at Alipore branch

State Bank of India (SBI) has come forward to promote the traditional heritage of folk art prevalent at various parts of the country.
To implement the initiative, the first of its kind, the Alipore branch in Kolkata has been redesigned and given a new look to showcase the marvel of selected folk, painting and artifact. The display will give opportunities to the visitors at the branches to familiarize them with these unique memorabilia. SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya in presence of Rajnish Kumar, MD and Partha Pratim Sengupta, CGM, Kolkata Circle inaugurated the Glimpses of folk art of Bengal at Alipore Branch, Kolkata today.
The display contains Kalighat Patachitra, Heritage print collection, Wood cut prints, Terracota and Dhokra works, famous clay dolls of Krishnanager, Wooden Crafts of Santiniketan, Chow musk etc. which will no doubt be the connoisseurs choice.
