SER observing Swachhta Pakhwada

S N Agrawal, general manager, South Eastern Railway (SER) initiated Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat – Swachhta Pakhwada at its Headquarters, Garden Reach, today as a part of making Clean India on and from August 16 to August 31. The programme was chalked out with Nukkad (drama), Prabhat Pheri, Cleaning of North and South Colony including SER’s Headquarters.
At the outset, Agrawal administered the Swachhta pledge amongst all staff and officers.  The general manager, in a short address said that officers and staff have taken pledge to make railways clean.  He also said that this Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat Mission would improve sanitation facilities for all travelling public and rail users.  He also laid top most priority on cleanliness of railway surroundings as a greater part of clean India which is a noble idea and continuous process. 
A large gathering of railway men, principal officers of various departments joined the cleanliness venture. As many as 500 staff, officers, RPF personnel, SE Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides, Sports personnel along with their family members took part in this cleanliness drive to spread awareness about all round cleanliness of railway premises. This Swachhta Pakhwada, Cleanliness fortnight Campaign is being organised at four Divisions i.e. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi of South Eastern Railway with active participation of large gathering of railway men and their families.  The whole programme was organised by J K Saha, chief mechanical engineer, SER.
