A Special Christmas At A Special Place – Café ICanFlyy

Café ICanFlyy kick-started their first Christmas gala celebration with their cake mixing party. Shrreya Pande was a special guest at the event. Something that makes this holiday season especially special is the achievement of three of the six special needs cafe crew members. Prakriti, Komal and Saloni have each won an Achiever’s Award from SD Birla School at Smayan 2017. This award recognizes special needs individuals who are performing excellently at their workplaces.
Founded by Minu Budhia and her daughter, Preeyam Budhia, Cafe ICanFlyy is a one-of-a-kind cafe in Kolkata that serves more than just coffee. The brainchild of Minu Budhia, the café empowers special needs individuals, enabling them to get the respect they deserve in our society.
The café has been decorated to look like a winter wonderland with twinkling fairy lights, silver and blue stars, snowmen, stockings, candy canes, and red bows. During this festive time, the updated regular menu (which now comprises a variety of quirky chaats) is complemented with winter specials that include warm salads, seasonal soups, fried platters, fresh fruit cakes, wellness teas and new desserts – Carrot Cake & Bavaria. The addition of limited Christmas special goodies and new combos on Near buy for Christmas and New Year.
Festive workshops like Coffee Painting, DIY Party Décor, and Make Your Own Vision Board will take place throughout this month. The café was also at the German Consulate Christmas Bazaar.
Café ICanFlyy is also participating in the Art Rickshaw Unicorn Festival, so those who love everything unicorn shouldn’t miss out on the Unicorn Freakshake and Unicorn Hot Chocolate. To celebrate crossing the 1700th customer mark, they will be surprising their most regular and loyal customers on New Year’s Day with goodies.
The cafe is a cozy, quirky, colourful space with indoor and outdoor seating, and free WiFi so one can catch up with friends, have a quick business meeting or lunch, host a kitty party, enjoy high tea, or unwind after work. The café has also become a popular destination for hosting private events and parties. Over the past three months we’ve had at least 2 private bookings per week including birthday parties, ladies’ lunches, socio-cultural events, private organization meets, and more.
The food - seasoned with love and support, a sprinkle of faith, & a dash of confidence - will tantalise your taste buds while the rich, aromatic coffees serve up the right kick of caffeine you need. You can also pick up healthy, pocket-friendly, ready-to-go snacks from the ICanFlyy Food Factory. Surprise karaoke evenings, open mics, live music, board game meet-ups, and a variety of creative workshops are other fun events also take place at the cafe. The new play area for young children (3-12 year olds) also makes the cafe a popular destination for play dates and family outings. And if you want to enjoy the tasty fare from the comfort of your own home, you can order your favourites on Swiggy. Café ICanFlyy opened its doors on 19th August, 2017 and is breaking barriers and making an impact by destroying myths surrounding the capabilities of special needs individuals.
