UBI celebrates International Women’s Day

United Bank of India (UBI) celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8 at the bank’s head office in Kolkata. The function was attended by K V Rama Moorthy, executive director and his wife V Rani, Ashok Kumar Pradhan, executive director, senior executives of the bank and their wives and all the female employees of head office.
Speaking on the occasion, Rama Moorthy said that bank is concerned towards providing a congenial and secured work environment for the female employees of the Bank. he also said due thrust and focus is laid by the bank for empowering women by extending loans to women entrepreneurs under Stand up India Program of Union government for setting up their own establishment.
Ashok Kumar Pradhan, Executive Director of the Bank also talked on this occasion and said that women employees of the Bank should be empowered for progress and growth of the Bank and also to shoulder new responsibilities to achieve the goal in every spheres of Life. Sunanda Basu, general manager, also welcomed the participants and narrated the significance of celebration of Women’s Day.
