Universal Udyog Ltd in an expansion mode

Kolkata  based edible oil brand Universal, part of the Binay Singh led Universal Udyog Ltd, is on an expansion mode, with setting up of additional production capacity of its  existing Dankuni  crushing and packaging plant with an investment of Rs 25 Crore. The production of the same commenced today on 10TH May 2017.
The current production of 100 M.T (Metric Ton) with the capacity expansion will now produce 300 MT per day. Universal Udyog Ltd which is currently marketing Soyabean and Mustard oil, under the universal brand name, also expands its product portfolio with the addition of Palm Oil, Sunflower and Rice Barn Oil.
Universal Udyog Ltd, which commenced commercial operations in August 2016 is growing at a rapid pace, clocking a turnover of Rs 65 crore in the FY 2016-2017.
The company is also setting up a refinery at the Dankuni unit with a capacity of producing 150 M.T per day. They have acquired additional land adjacent to the factory for the purpose. It is also setting up plants with investments of Rs 120 crore at Agra, Gorakhpur & Jhansi. The Agra unit will be operational in a month’s time, while the other two would be ready for production by the end of the next Six Months.
Binay Singh, Chairman of Universal Udyog Ltd, is very optimistic about the growth prospects, and is confident of attaining a turnover of about Rs 300 crore by the FY ending 2017-18. (EOIC)
