India Yamaha Motor domestic sales growth

11 May 2017

Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has registered a growth of 8% in domestic sales (including Nepal) during April 2017 as compared to the corresponding period last year. Recently,  Yamaha launched its all new powerful 249 cc Mid-class Street Fighter motorcycle FZ25 in India at Rs.1,19,500 (Ex showroom Delhi) to further boost its share in the premium segment.
The introduction of new product and Yamaha’s increasing focus on expanding to tier-II and III cities, thus reaching out to larger groups of target population has been instrumental in boosting its sales.
Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “The sale numbers bear testimony to Yamaha’s focus in growth, regardless of circumstantial challenges like what the industry recently confronted with the ban on BS III inventory. As the company is eyeing to achieve 1 million sales in 2017, it has introduced FZ 25. On the other hand, the company will remain vigilant to tier II and tier III markets that could see reasonable surge in scooter sales.” (EOIC)
