Land-broker murder case : Step brother and two contract killers arrested

Police cracked the murder case of a land-broker in less than a week and arrested his step brother and two contract-killers. A 9mm pistol and three live cartridges were seized  from them too.
It may be mentioned that body of Sisir Mandal, 37 was found at a field at Bagbari area under English Bazaar police station on September 19. Three bullet injuries were found at the head of the deceased. The incident caused stir as the spot is within 500 metres from the residence of the superintendent of police.
SP, Malda Arnab Ghosh said that during the probe family members of the deceased were grilled. “We came to know that Sisir Mandal jointly with his step brother Samir Mandal owned a large piece of land. Finally it was revealed that Samir hired Sanjay Rabidas and Tanmay Mollik offering them Rs 5 lakh to kill Sisir so that he could get the land alone,” Ghosh said.
“Accordingly Sisir was summoned by the contract killers who killed him on September 18 night. The firearm used for killing Sisir Mandal was kept buried. We have recovered that too,” SP said.
“After arresting the contract killers, they revealed the name Samir Mandal and he was arrested too,” the district police chief said.
The three arrested would be produced in court on Wednesday
