Recently Saha was caught in a controversy when a trader lodged a complaint with the police against him alleging that he had not paid over Rs 6 lakh for a weighing-machine that he ordered.
The police complaint against the secretary of such a prestigious business organization caused stir among the members. Demands were raised from various quarters for his removal.
A meeting of the 25 unanimously elected members of the executive committee to reconstitute the body with a span of three years was held yesterday.
Kamalesah Bihani, vice president of the  new board said, “The selection was unanimous. The executive committee members submitted their choices for the post of president and secretary.''
Another influential member of MMCC requesting anonymity said, “We are happy with the removal of Saha as the secretary. Image of an organization like MMCC is much higher than any individual’s aspirations.”
Kundu said, “I acted as secretary for 14 years. I will try to perform in the interest of the organization.”
Saha rubbished allegations against him as “baseless.” He, however, welcomed the new board and assured cooperation. (EOIC)
