Commendable skills and praiseworthy performances of doctors of Malda medical college & hospital (MMCH) saved the life of a mentally retarded minor who had inserted a needle into his genital.
Raju Halder, who has been reportedly mentally challenged since birth, severely injured his genital by penetrating the needle a couple of days ago. As he started bleeding profusely, alarming parents took her to local health centre. Sensing that the child was in a vulnerable condition, the doctor immediately referred him to MMCH.
After primary observation the doctors at MMCH decided that the kid must undergo a surgery. A nine-member team was constituted and the operation was done for hours together. Finally the needle was brought out and the minor received relief and a new life.
Haripada Halder, father of the minor said, “We were out of all hopes when we took our son to MMCH. But the doctors did not give up. It was their performance that my child is still alive. We are grateful to the doctors forever.”
Dr Amit Daw, vice principal and medical super of MMCH said, “We are contented that the child is properly treated by our doctors. This is not the first time. Our doctors cured patients with critical problems before also.”
