Mukul Roy skips Narada issue

Says TMC busy with organizational elections

Vice president of All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) Mukul Roy refused to speak a single word on the recent developments of Narada sting operation case after the apex court of the state ordered a CBI probe only yesterday. Roy, a Rajya Sabha MP of Trinamool and a close associate of the party supremo and chief minister Mamata Banerjee said that he came to Malda today to constitute the electoral collegium for party’s organizational election in the district to be held in April.
“Mamata Banerjee is our supreme leader. She is the head of the party and administrative head of the state. Our party supremo has already briefed the media regarding this only yesterday. I have nothing to add to what she has already said,” Mukul Roy said when asked for her comment on Narada sting operation case. It may be mentioned that along with some other senior Trinamool leaders, Roy too was shown on the footage of the sting operation which was not verified by The Echo of India.
District Trinamool leaders of all sections were seen to be too busy with Roy’s one day tour to Malda. English Bazaar MLA Nihar Ghosh, district party PRESIDENT Dr Moazzem Hossain. District youth Trinamool president Amlan Bhaduri, TMCP district president Prasenjit Das and others welcomed Roy at Malda town station this morning. A member of AITMC’s apex committee Roy went to Gour Bhawan straight from the station.
Mukul Roy held meetings with the elected Trinamool members of rural bodies, civic bodies, district Trinamool core committee members separately at Gour Bhawan. Former cabinet ministers Sabitri Mitra and Krishnendu Choudhury met Roy separately.
While speaking to media persons Roy said, “We are confident to win major seats in the next rural polls in the state. In last parliamentary elections we won 34 out of 42 seats in West Bengal. Our objective is to win at least 40 seats in the state in next Lok Sabha polls.”
“Trinamool Congress was recognized as a national party by the election commission of India four months back. We have to complete party’s organizational elections by April. With an eye to conclude the elections based on agreements I constituted the electoral collegiums in Malda today according to the direction of our party supremo Mamata Banerjee,” Roy added.
