New principal assumes charge of Malda College

Malda College standing on the verge of its platinum jubilee gets its new principal today. Manas Baidya assumed charge from the teacher-in-change Prabhas Choudhury in presence of district magistrate Kaushik Bhattacharya, who is also the president of the college's governing body.
A teacher of Commerce department of the college Baidya was in charge of college's internal quality assessment council.
It may be mentioned that the post of principal of one of the largest colleges of the state with multiple academic wings remained vacant for long. Those who were appointed the principal in last three years tendered resignations owing to one reason or the other.
Baidya was hailed by all quarters after he assumed the charge.
"I have been a teacher of this august institution for long. My motto is to maintain the glory of Malda College taking care of all its wings with cooperation from all of my colleagues and the administrators," the new principal said. (EOIPC)
