Health acclimatization centre for North Sikkim tourists

Minister of Health Care, Human Services &Family Welfare Department A.K.  Ghatani in a two-day official visit to North Sikkim has inspected the ongoing construction work of the health  acclimatization center at Thangu North Sikkim. The acclimatization center which is on the verge of completion has been funded under Border Area Development fund. It will function as an emergency relief center to the tourists and pilgrims proceeding towards Gurudongma Lake, at an elevation of 17,800ft. 
On  reaching Mangan on Tuesday, he  visited the construction site of the newly sanctioned 100- bed  District Hospital. He also inspected the newly constructed trauma and emergency center and blood bank at Mangan. The blood bank which will be the first of its kind in the State is nearing completion and will have all modern amenities. He  also visited the newly constructed TB Hospital which is now functioning as a temporary hospital and  reviewed the staff position in the hospital. He stated that shortage of  medical specialist will be addressed soon. Since the hospital had all the amenities and infrastructure , the medical specialist would be posted soon for providing services to the public.  He  also interacted with the  patients of the hospital. Around 30 inhouse  patients were being treated in the hospital .
