Tremor hits north Sikkim on 7th anniversary of 2011 quake

On Tuesday, North Sikkim was shaken by a mild tremor that hit early in the morning and lasted for about 30 to 40 seconds; bringing back memories of the fateful evening of September 18, 2011, when a devastating earthquate hit Sikkim, killing at least 76 people. It was a Sunday and the tremor had hit at 6.10 p.m. with an intensity of 6.9 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was near Lingzya, in Upper Dzongu, North Sikkim.
