Kalpana Bain elected unopposed as N&M ZP Adhyaksha

Bharatiya Janata Party’s Smt Kalpana Bain, Zilla Parishad Member from Radhanagar Constituency in North Andaman was elected unopposed as the Adhyaksha of Zilla Parishad, North and Middle Andaman on Monday. In the elections held for the 3rd term of the Zilla Parishad in the community hall at Mayabunder, Zilla Parishad member from Kadamtala in Middle Andaman, Smt Swapna Mondal, secured all votes barring four from Congress members to be elected as Up-Adhyaksha of the Zilla Parishad today.
The elections were conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of the district, Mr Arava Gopi Krishna. He administered the oath of office to the newly elected Adhyaksha and Up-Adhyaksha of North & Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad in the Zilla Parishad Community Hall at Mayabunder. The outgoing Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad, North and Middle Andaman, Saw Tathu, State President of BJP, A & N Islands, Mr Vishal Jolly and other officials of the Parishad were also present on the occasion.
Speaking to EOI after the elections, the newly elected Adhyaksha, Smt Kalpana Bain said that her priority will be on faster execution of infrastructure development projects. Building of community assets, road works etc will be accorded utmost precedence as they are crucial for the development of the district and for overall improvement in the living conditions of the rural population. I can assure people that execution of developmental projects will be taken up without any bias and every constituency of the district will be treated equally, said Smt Bain expressing gratitude to all members of the Zilla Parishad, senior leaders of BJP and people for supporting her in the elections.
