Reckless driver crushes woman to death at CFO Nallah

A reckless tourist vehicle driver mowed down a 32 year old woman in the Middle Andaman region on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Lalitha Dung Dung, wife of Rajesh Topno, resident of CFO Nallah, Betapur. The police have arrested the driver of the vehicle identified as Goutam Mondal, son of Tapan Mondal, resident of Bhatu Basti, and seized the vehicle bearing registration no. AN01K1840  under relevant sections of the law. Sources claim that the errant driver, only 23 year old, even did not possess a valid driving license.
According to reports, the mishap occurred at around 12.10 pm. The driver was moving at a breakneck speed and crushed the victim who was trying to cross the road to visit a neighbour. Angry villagers stopped the vehicle. Police rushed to the scene and shifted the victim to PHC Billyground where doctors declared her brought dead. The driver of the victim surrendered before the police and managed to escape public fury.
