SA Police recovers ganja plants and IMFL bottles

On 26th November, 2017 on information received that one Mukunda Gain has planted some ganja plant in his garden, a raiding team headed by SI K. Ilangovan SHO PS Neil, PSI Bisavjeet Prasad, Constables Sanjib Das, Vishal Kumar, Kamla Baroi and Gurjiv conducted a raid under the supervision of Mr. M. K. Shukla, SDPO Havelock and recovered four ganja plants planted in the backyard of Mukunda Gain’s house which were more than six feet in height. A case was registered against Gain and he was arrested from the spot and produced before Hon’ble Court from where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
On 23rd November, 2017 a team of PS Neil consisting of PSI Bisavjeet Prasad, Head Constable S. Das, Constables A.K.Das, Sanjeeb Das and Kamla Baroi while on routine patrolling, intercepted one Jogesh Roy son of late Ramakanta Roy (43 yrs) resident of Ram Nagar, Neil Island who was hiding a jute gunny bag in the bushes of his garden and recovered 30 company sealed whiskey bottles of 180 ml each from his possession. Upon failure to produce any licence or permit for the IMFL, the accused was arrested under relevant act and later released on bail.
On 27th November, 2017 on a tip-off at 2230 hrs, that one cargo engine dinghy No.19 has sailed from Joda Kalan, Sippighat for Neil Island loaded with IMFL bottles, a raiding team headed by SI K.Ilangovan SHO PS Neil, Constables Suresh Kumar, Shiva Kumar, Mirnal Kirtania and Gurjiv raided the said dinghy bearing No. RCS 1307 JC No.19 near fish landing jetty Neil Island found three persons Bidhya Ranjan Biswas son of Nibai Biswas resident of Curtbert Bay, Nabo Kumar Gain son of Shanti Ram Gain resident of Sitapur, Neil Island and Shanti Ram Gain son of Late Chandrkanta Gain resident of Sitapur, Neil Island while they were unloading a carton with 35 company sealed bottles of whiskey of 750 ml each.
