The state BJP will move  High Court with the plea of ordering CBI probe into death of two students allegedly in firing recently at Daribhit high school premises under Islampur police station. State BJP president Dilip Ghosh said that only the judiciary could compel the state government to transfer the probe to CBI from state police.
“Police have been accused of firing and killing two students. How probe can be made by the accused. Families of the students killed have also demanded CBI probe. We also believe that their demand is justified. So, we are knocking the door of the High Court seeking CBI probe,” Ghosh said.
State BJP president also accused the minister of state for panchayet and rural development department Golam Rabbani and Islampur MLA Kanhaiyalal Agarwal of inciting the  student-police clash.
“At their indulgence the school authority was recruiting the teachers whom the students objected. The situation could have been managed amicably. Unarmed students only wanted suitable teachers. But police came heavily upon them. Two students were gunned down. Action should be taken against the minister of state and the MLA,” state BJP president said.
Dubbing state minister for education Partha Chatterjee  as a ‘killer,’ Ghosh said, “His hands are stained with blood of students. He should immediately step down.”
Seeking apologies for tomorrow’s bandh Ghosh claimed that it was a decision under compulsion. “We are not in favour of bandh. But at certain situations bandh is the only option left. It is a bandh by the people. If Trinamool Congress and state government try to foil the bandh, people will reply to them in a befitting language,” Ghosh said.
State BJP president also alleged that police had different measures for the same offence. “When a Trinamool leader directed party workers to hurl bombs on police personnel, no action was taken. But North Dinajpur BJP president was promptly arrested for protesting against police atrocities at Daribhit village. BJP leaders and workers are not scared to court arrest. But police would be given the right reply at right time,” he commented.
Meanwhile, district BJP president Sankar Chakraborty was produced in court today again. But instead of Islampur sub divisional court Chakraborty was produced in Raiganj court for a different case. He was sent to jail custody for 14 days.
Chakraborty, however, said that he did not know why he was produced in Raiganj court today. He further alleged that police produced him in court without arresting him.
