AZAD IS NOW SONIA’S FAVOURITE NEGOTIATOR
Ghulam Nabi Azad is the man to watch. After the Congress lost power in 2014, Sonia Gandhi was left with no choice except to fall back on the old Congress pack. Azad had been minister right from late Rajiv Gandhi days. He was kicked up to a cabinet rank during Narasimha Rao’s regime. When Sonia Gandhi became party president, she made him general secretary and gave him was given the charge of important states. He has been successful in all the states he handled except Uttar Pradesh. When Dr Manmohan Singh became the Prime Minister of the UPA government, he was made the parliamentary affairs minister. There is no looking back for him since then. His latest achievement is during the Uttarakhand crisis. Earlier when DMK Chief K Karunanidhi refused to have an alliance with Congress in Tamil Naidu and even refused to talk to the AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik, Azad was rushed to Chennai and settled the matter. He has been given a new name. Azad is now the SOS man in the Congress.

Of late, Birender is paying regular visits to the RSS office in the capital to cultivate all those who matter. Before he had left the Congress, he had tried very hard toger the chief minister’s post but the high command ultimately opted for Hooda. After losing out the race, he decided to leave the Congress. Now, he is once again pursuing his goal with all the seriousness at his command.
JAIRAM RAMESH IS PRO-ACTIVE IN RAJYA SABHA THIS SESSION
The former rural development minister Jairam Ramesh has suddenly become very active in Rajya Sabha. The reason is simple: His term is coming to an end and Ramesh has to show to his political bosses his usefulness in the House to ensure another term. While Ramesh doesn’t get much chance to participate in the debates, he has become an integral part of the party’s shouting brigade. Ramesh doesn’t come down to the Well, but disrupts BJP speakers every now and then. On Wednesday, during the Agusta Westland debate, Ramesh even started arguing when Ghulam Nabi Azad, the leader of the Opposition was talking. It has also been observed that Ramesh has cut down on his frequent foreign trips to spend more time in Parliament..

SENIOR CONGRESS LEADERS DISLIKE KISHOR
The role of the newly- ppointed Congress strategist Prashant Kishor is under the scanner. The Congress leadership is looking at him with suspicion ever since he is supposed to have named Rahul Gandhi to be projected as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. The Congress leaders feel that Kishor is actually working for Nitish Kumar whom he wants to project as the Prime Minister. He wants Rahul out of Nitish Kumar’s way, said a Congress general secretary.Rahul will be our Prime minister said a senior general secretary. (IPA)
