Ghulam Nabi Azad is the man to watch. Azad is famous as the Congress leader with a midas touch for having won for his party every state of which he has been in charge. He now faces the   litmus test of his as  general secretaryin charge of Uttar Pradesh where the Congress till now has been the fourth party preceded by the Samajwadi Party, BJP and BSP. His stars are already on the zoom.  Besides being the political adviser to Congress vice-President Rahul Gandhi and his election strategist, he is even the leader of Oppositionin the Rajya Sabha and is strategising the policies of the party in Parliament. His importance can be gauged from the fact that when  Sonia i and her son and daughter went to Allahabad for the Indira Gandhi centenary, it was Azad who accompanied the family and no other senior leader went with them ;   not even Ahmad Patel.

Alexander Nix, CEO of Cambridge Analytica which ran the successful campaign for US President-elect Donald Trump, will be coming to India in January. His interest for the time being is focused on the elections in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Punjab.  Some Indian agencies too are interested in meeting him and opening a link for the future in America.

JAITLEY IS BEARING THE BRUNT OF DEMONETISATION CHAOS

Poor Arun Jaitley. The most moderate face of the BJP, has been made the sacrificial lamb by Prime Minster Narendra Modi on the demonetisation issue. The demonetisation was conceptualised by Modi andhe forced it upon  finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Sources in the BJP reveal that Jaitley was reluctant to make the move but Modi was adamant. The move is being seen as an attempt  to put all the blame on the finance minister who could be dropped like a hot potato from the finance ministry to please the Opposition and the people. As the situation has evolved since November 8 night when the decision was announced by the PM in an address to the nation, it is Jaitley whose image has suffered the most. Jaitley, known as the moderate face, has now been made unpopular among the people. He is facing the belligerent Opposition for the fault of Modi.

STARS FAVOURING MANOHAR PARRIKAR

Stars seem to be favouring defence minister Manohar Parrikar. After the surgical strikes, he has emerged as the poster boy of the NDA government and the BJP. He is being projected   in every election    meeting    by Amit Shah.  Where ever Shah goes, he tom toms the issue of surgical strike and gives the credit to Parrikar. Shah has been telling the audience that it was Parrikar who lifted the morale of the country. (IPA Service)
