JD-U workers from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are reportedly pressuring JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav to form a national party after Nitish Kumar formed a government with the BJP in Bihar. Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad Yadav is busy giving shape to an Opposition-led coalation against Nitish Kumar. The “Swabhiman rally” or ‘BJP Hatao Desh Banchao’ rally of Lalu and other Mahagathbandhan parties is expected to be a show of strength against Nitish Kumar also and the RJD leader is eyeing to consolidate his Muslim-Yadav-Dalit votes. His son Tejashwi Yadav is on padyatra of the state to tell the people how Nitish joined hands with the BJP and insulted Bihar’s mandate.

RAHUL WORRIED OVER BIHAR UNIT’S FATE AS NITISH LURES MLAs

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is desperately trying to save the Bihar Congress from disintegration after the failure of the Mahagathbandhan. He is keen to appoint a new PCC chief and a Bhumihar leader is expected to be the choice. Incumbent PCC Chief Ashok Chaudhary reportedly tried to break the party with a group of six MLAs going out. Congress has 27 members in the Assembly, which means they need the support of three more MLAs to escape disqualification if they form a break-away group. It is believed that the party high command got wind of Ashok Chaudhary’s idea and thwarted it by asking all MLAs to meet legislature party leader Sadanand Singh and develop a strategy to save the party. Nitish Kumar has reportedly offered five ministerial berths if the Congress MLAs supported his government. Names under discussion for the new PCC chief are said to include Anil Sharma, Akhilesh Singh and Shyam Sunder Dhiraj.

CONG BID TO WORK OUT STRATEGY TO COUNTER MODI OFFENSIVE

Sonia Gandhi advised them to go aggressive against the BJP government and stage protests all over the country on the issue of anti-people policies.

BJP EYEING SANJAY SINGH TO CHECKMATE RAHUL, SONIA

After a series of coups in various states, BJP is now said to be trying to rope in Congress leader Dr Sanjay Singh to damage the prospects of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in Amethi and Raebareli respectively. But apparently Sanjay singh is not ready to oblige. Sources say he might be made the PCC Chief in UP in place of Raj Babbar to appease the Thakurs. (IPA)
