10.33 crores released for road, bridge works in isles

In response to the demand made by Mr Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, A& N Islands, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways had sanctioned an amount of Rs 86 crores under Central Road Fund (CRF) for undertaking the work for rehabilitation and up gradation of seven roads and 15 bridges in South Andaman District, Nicobar District and in the N & M Andaman District. The Ministry of RT&H  on September 27 this year has  accordingly released an  amount of Rs 10.33 crores in favour of the Ex. Engineer, RCD, APWD, Wimberlygunj through a cheque to undertake the works.
In a release, the Member of Parliament said that this is an exceptional and outstanding effort of the BJP led government for all-round development of the rural area of these islands. Since, the road connectivity is one of the main aspects of development,  Mr Ray has expressed gratitude to Mr Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways for giving his valuable attention towards the A & N Islands.
