ABVP, Seva Bharathi in service of Kerala flood-hit people

Karyakartas of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Kerala Unit, in association with Seva Bharathi – a service organisation, immediately started their rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities in various parts of the state as soon as the state faces ann unprecedented deluge. Around 500 relief camps have been set up in all districts. More than 2000 workers of ABVP are in the rescue and relief activities since last week. Many of them are the ones who have lost their own houses to floods. Karyakarta are paying special attention to helping residents of the worse affected districts. Around 20,000 victims who were cut off from the rest of the world were rescued by the volunteers of ABVP and Seva Bharathi. Apart from Lifesaving Kit, they are distributing other goods such as vessels, clothes, groceries, medicines and other essentials to the victims and to the relief camps.
While sending condolences to the families of victims, national president Dr. S. Subbiah said, “ABVP mourns the loss of lives due to the floods. While ABVP and Seva Bharathi continue to work for the flood victims, I appeal to people of India to contribute to Seva Bharathi and help us serve the flood victims better.” The national general secretary Mr Ashish Chauhan said, “ABVP stands in solidarity with the families who lost their beloved ones to the floods. To help the flood victims, all units of ABVP across India will start fund collection.
